LUNATIC was officially born in February of 1994 when Harry Wadley (guitar and vocals), Andy Arenas (drums), and Shawn Hutton (bass guitar) decided to start their own project. After putting some songs together on tape, the band began playing many 'live' shows gaining regional support.
In March of 1995, LUNATIC entered the studio and recorded their debut album "Empty Promises". Besides selling over a thousand units, the band instantaneously promoted the album by sending it off to many magazines, radio stations, bands, and fans worldwide. Opening for national acts PRO-PAIN, M.O.D and more, the band played shows anywhere and everywhere they could gaining experience as their following of fans steadily grew.
The year 1996 brought change for the band, parting ways with Shawn Hutton, LUNATIC recruited guitarist Jim Hicks and bassist Aaron Edwards. In May of 1996, the band re-entered the studio and recorded their second release "Uncontrollable Hatred". The reaction they received from the second album was incredible! Harry states, "We were getting floods of mail every week. Our merchandise was selling out every show. Opportunities just started opening for us".
1997-1998, LUNATIC traveled to various cities throughout the states supporting their second disc. The band shared the stage with such national acts as OVERKILL, KREATOR, SCREW, COAL CHAMBER, EXODUS, OBITUARY, ANTHRAX and many more as there following of rabid fans grew even larger. The band also recruited Jeff Howe to take over bass guitar duties.
2003 brought the biggest year yet for the band and after what seemed like a revolving door of bass players, LUNATIC recruited Jerald Turbeville (Already with years of experience) to complete the final piece of the machine that is now LUNATIC! Harry States" We literally got ahold of Jerald two months before the tour and he was ready to go...very professional, plays with his fingers which we love AND he's already like a brother to us!" LUNATIC then entered the studio and recorded their fourth release "Determination" and then set off on a successful summer tour which took the band across America and back.
LUNATIC are here to stay and have proven they are here for the long haul! Harry states, "We're decades into it now, We have plenty of experience, and although things are slow right now it's definately fun to jam with these guys again". The bands' material is currently in over 50 record stores as well as several distribution houses. They've graced airwaves on various radio stations in over ten countries, as well as being featured in over 60 different magazines. They're currently receiving fan supportl from around the globe and wish to gain the eyes and ears of everyone. It has already been a long road for LUNATIC, but their journey has just begun!
